Emileigh Clare
Emileigh is the Editor-in-Chief of the Hollins Columns. She is a Communication Studies major with two minors in Political Science and Creative Writing. Her childhood dream was to be a mermaid, but after joining her middle school newspaper staff, she bleeds sticky newspaper ink instead of blood. She treasures late night newsroom nights, where she eats way too much pizza but always gets illegal chauffeur service to her dorm.

Julie Abernethy
Features editor of the Columns and member of the Class of 2009, Julie is an English major and Communication Studies minor. In her spare time she waits tables at an unnamed Italian restaurant with the photo editor Kellie Kunerth where they discuss journalism ethics and layout theory over sweet tea and spaghetti.

Kellie Kunerth
Kellie is a member of the class of 2011 and is a double major of English and Studio Art and pursuing a Batten Leadership Certificate. She is the Photo Editor and aspires to be a photojournalist one day. On the weekends she earns pocket change waiting tables at a nameless Italian restaurant with Feature Editor Julie Abernethy. Between salad and pasta, Julie and Kellie enthusiastically discuss the journalistic dilemma of Photoshop image doctoring.

KaRenda J. LaPrade
Columns Copy Editor. Class of 2010 member. Communication Studies major. KaRenda wishes to pursue a career in television news after graduation. She has a total of 3 years of experience working in television. For two years, she was a dancer for the NBA D-League team, the Roanoke Dazzle and danced for one year for the Arena 2 football team, the Roanoke Steam. She was also a dancer for three years in the Florida Citrus Bowl Halftime Show. KaRenda has been dancing since she was three-years-old and has done pageants since the age of four.

Keisha Graziadei
Graduating in May 2009, Keisha is a reporter for the Hollins Columns and aspiring to become a religious reporter. She is the journalistic reporter for Rhythm, a Christian collegiate ministry in the Roanoke Valley, and being a Spanish major as well as a Communication Studies major, she is the creator and editor of Hollins’ La Mezcla “spanglish” literary newsletter.

Kendray Welsh
A stereotypical Libra who dreams of one day writing off-off-Broadway plays, Kendray plans to graduate in 2010 with a Major in Creative Writing and a double minor in Theatre and Communication Studies. She is obsessed with blogs and their inherent journalistic nature, and hopes to start up her own this summer.

Margaret Hoerath
Margaret is graduating from Hollins University in May 2009 with a double major in Political Science and Environmental Studies and a minor in Communications. She is interested in going into either environmental journalism or environmental policy and law. She has been writing for the Columns for three semesters and she wishes the next generation well in their investigative and journalistic endeavors at Hollins University. She is also a part of the student environmental club, Students for Environmental Action, and is one of the troublemakers on the Hollins fencing team.

Elizabeth Lawrence
A member of the class of 2012, Elizabeth plans to major in Communication Studies. Her ideal career would be to write for Rolling Stone Magazine or any other music-focused magazine. She is also very interested in photojournalism of the same nature. She is a member of Hollins organizations such as STAND and FMLA.

Yafen Liang
A mysterious presence lurking behind computer screens and manages the online version of the paper. Class of 2012, Creative Writing and Business major. And a twitter addict.
